Today we began with our morning work, followed by a meeting about our Goal of the Week- to show resiliency when trying new things. We talked about what resiliency looks like and had the task to look for it in our peers' actions throughout the day.
In Social Studies we watched a video about The World's Largest Lesson https://worldslargestlesson.globalgoals.org . We discussed the Sustainable Development Goals: END EXTREME POVERTY. FIGHT INEQUALITY AND INJUSTICE. TACKLE CLIMATE CHANGE. We then looked at the 17 global goals to help achieve these things by 2030 and shared which goals we find most important. After recess we worked on persuasive writing in our literacy groups. In Math we reviewed fraction vocabulary, like numerator and denominator, parts and whole. We then worked through fraction stations: Frosty Fractions, fraction memory and "What Do You Notice?" in our journals. In gym we continued learning Karate. Our focus and participation is amazing! In Music we did a music drawing activity. After quiet reading, we reviewed some of the concepts we learned through our Building Stations and watched a video about different kinds of bridges. Next week, we will begin building bridges and will need some supplies donated. If you have any of the following, please send them to school: *paper rolls *straws *popsicle sticks At the end of the day, we shared some resilient actions we observed and nominated peers who demonstrated resiliency. We fulfilled our goal and received a reward token. The Spring fundraiser is Big Deal Box Cards!
