Today we began with morning work, including math, goal setting, and journals. We then had our Spelling Bee and marked a partner's booklet. Please sign today's test and return to school next week.
We then had Music with Mrs. Hartley. In yoga our affirmations were "We are strong" and "We are independent." Today's Daily News article introduced the blockades that began in Vancouver where the Wet'suwet'en people are protesting the oil pipeline that is to be built. After recess, we manipulated Tangrams to build a square and then we tried to determine what fraction of the whole square each shape represented. We also compared shapes and noticed that a small triangle is 1/2 a square and a small triangle is 1/2 a parallelogram. After Math, we went to the gym with Ms. Merilovich's class to participate in gym. We practiced our stance, our punches and kicks. We then played a game with a partner. Enjoy your weekend! Stay healthy and warm! Questions about the possibility of school closures can be found on the CBE information pages for the public and at Alberta Health FAQs available to parents.
